Frequently Asked Questions
Q. What is the refund policy?
A. There are no refunds in the Learn to Skate Program. Credits will be given within 7 days of the start of the session. There will be a $25.00 administration charge.
Q. What if I am not sure I will like the class?
A. You may try a walk-on class for $25.00. If you decide to sign up, the $25.00 will be subtracted from your total payment.
Q. How do I schedule a make-up class?
A. You are allowed one make-up class per session. (This does not include classes that are canceled due to hockey tournaments or skating competitions.) You may call to schedule your make-up class, or sign up any time during a Learn to Skate class session. Make-up classes do not carry to the next sessions.
Q. How do I know if a class is canceled?
A. Skaters will be notified of cancellations in advance, if possible. All cancellations will also be posted on the skating board in the hallway near the snack bar and on our facebook page. They will also be posted on this website. You may also call the rink at 239-321-7516 for information.
Q. How do I know if my skater is ready to move up to the next level?
A. Evaluations are done on an ongoing basis. You can check your skaters progress by looking at the back of the card. Your skater will be tested on the last day of class and informed if they have successfully mastered all of the elements in the level and are ready to move up or if they need to continue working at their current level again. However, skaters that have mastered all the elements before evaluation day may be moved up if the coach feels they are ready. Certificates will be presented to all skaters on the last day of classes.
Q. Do I need to take private lessons?
A. Private lessons are designed to help a student in a one-on-one format. You may schedule private lessons if you are having trouble on certain elements, moving towards the competitive field or just want a one-on-one experience. All lesson fees are paid and arranged directly with the coach of your choice. There is a separate charge for ice fees ($15 per one hour session), which must be paid at the front desk before entering the ice. All skaters are required to sign in for each freestyle session. The cost for a freestyle session is $15.00 or you may purchase a pack of ten freestyles for $125.00. Full payment will be charged by the coach if failure to show up or cancel within 24 hours of your scheduled lesson.
